Due to the imposition of 'withholding tax' by the government on the exchange companies working in the field of currency exchange in Pakistan and issuing notices under it, the exchange companies said that now the value of one dollar can go up to Rs 200. However, economists and the government deny these concerns.
The possibility of an increase in the price of the dollar from the exchange companies is being expressed at a time when the local currency has been under pressure against the dollar for months and its value is continuously declining. At present, the price of one US dollar is between 175 to 176 Pakistani rupees.
